The Nikon Z50 is a mirrorless camera that revolves around the infamous Z mount, which is bigger than Nikon’s previous F mount. It sports a DX-Format 20.9 MP APS-C CMOS Sensor which couples with the EXPEED 6 image processor to give you superior image quality, higher sensitivity, and fast performance. With an ISO range of 100-51200 which can be bumped up all the way to 204800. The Nikon Z50 is adequately equipped to work in various lighting conditions. Thanks to the EXPEED 6 processor you get enough power to shoot continuous shots up to 11 fps alongside 8 MP shots on a staggering 30 fps.
The sensor also includes a 209 point hybrid autofocus system. This makes use of both phase-detection and contrast-detection points to keep quick and accurate focus on subjects for both images and video.
Video
The Nikon Z50 does not hold back when it comes to high-quality video. With recording capabilities at resolutions of 4K UHD video up to 30 fps. You also have Full HD 1080p at up to 120 fps for perfect slow-motion shoots. The camera delivers premium quality footage that you would not expect from most APS-C models. The Z50 also has the option to save the video files to either in-camera memory cards or to an external recorder via the HDMI output. You can shoot time-lapse footage alongside the ability to produce the completed 4K UHD video directly in-camera.
Body
The Nikon Z50 still feels as premium as the rest of Nikon’s Z series cameras. With a body made from magnesium alloy that is both dust and weather resistant. At the back of the camera is a 3.2″ 1.04m-dot LCD screen that is good for smooth and clear image viewing and playback as well as live view shooting. With the 180° flip-under tilting design you will feel very comfortable operating the camera in a selfie position. A 3.6m-dot electronic viewfinder helps with comfortable viewing when not using live view. With NIKKOR optics you can rest assured the EVF gives you crystal clear results.
